Well it’s a week later, I guess I should finally post about GMX, huh?
We drove up after work on Friday! We got in later than we expected but we got into the room fast, and I threw on Trillian and we hung out downstairs, and went to the Favor panel!
Kevin in the Falcon cockpit!
Kevin was doing the photo scavenger hunt I set up for him all weekend, though it quickly degenerated into a list of specific things to find, to “take photos of costumes.” For every 5 photos he took he earned a Fancy Cake.
The Favor panel!
I got to wear my new wig with Trillian. It’s darker than I wanted but Arda was out of the shade I originally wanted – but I do like it, I think.
Saturday day we spent mostly following Chase around as he did his staff-photographer duties. I wore Dr Forrester in the morning:
We had breakfast in the restaurant – Chase was finishing up his photos while Kevin and I went to get a table. I felt really silly asking for a table for 3 and then setting Tom Servo in the 3rd chair when we sat down. Really wondered if the waiter thought I thought Tom Servo was real and needed his own chair and plate.
I put on Donna after that, and Kevin put on Harry Potter, and we did the Exterminate Bullying fundraiser. I changed into Runaway Bride halfway through.
Then I put regular Donna on again to help Kevin into his new-ish Link costume. He has a new tunic and hat! Now to update the rest of it.
They peace-tied the HECK out of his sword, which I thought was hilarious, since it’s a wooden sword in a wooden sheath, and you could do the same amount of damage hitting someone with the sheath as you could the sword! We didn’t mind at all – just thought it was funny!
We ordered pizza in the room for dinner, where Kevin burnt his lip so bad on it that he got a blister!
This is not a photo of the actual event, but a dramatic interpretation of it:
I put on Romana I for the Game of Thrones ball, though once I again I ended up not staying in the cape long – this time it was not due to crowds, but due to wardrobe malfunctions. I guess leaving the cape wadded in a bin since Dragoncon wasn’t the best idea – some of the lines of feathers came untacked and were trailing. I didn’t want them stepped on, so I just took it back up to the room.
(I like the Deadpool photobomb in the second pic).
Kevin wore my cape and he was FABULOUS
Kevin took a bunch of pictures for his scavenger hunt during this time. We working on not interrupting people at a con, saying excuse me, please, and thank you while doing the hunt, so if you posed for a picture for him, I really appreciate it.
I got Chase into Zaphod for a bit after that. There were TWO other Trillians there! I got my picture with one, though it turned out bad š
Leah gave us a “Don’t Panic” towel! You can kinda see it on my belt there.

Kevin the Human:
We decided we wanted tacos so we ended up having a 2nd dinner of Taco Bell late that night. Yay.
Sunday Chase was still taking pics, so I put on Donna Silence in the Library and Kevin and started carrying things to the car. Then we went shopping (Kevin got a Kingdom Hearts necklace) and Kevin played video games in the game room. I changed out of Donna in the car and put on normal clothes so we could go to Cheesecake Factory! Yum.
I always really enjoy GMX. It’s a fun, laid-back con with an interesting mix of guests and events. (This year I actually went to part of a panel about Peter Cushing! I would have stayed for the whole thing if I hadn’t been so hungry, haha).
Anyway, all of our GMX pics are here!
Next up we are heading to MCFC for a day next weekend. I’ll try to take pictures.
